Elliot Davis
Elliot Davis PhD Biophysics/Molecular Genetics
Dr. Elliot Davis is a retired professor of Biophysics and Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University at Buffalo.
He is one of the pioneers of modern speech recognition and holds the landmark patent (https://patents.google.com/patent/WO1989005015A1/en) in pattern recognition/error reduction. The patent was licensed to AT&T and Lucent Technologies. The technique was originally developed by Dr. Davis to help the handicapped automate their environment.
Dr. Davis has been the recipient of numerous grants and contracts, he has also done work for the FBI and the Defense Department in the area of automatic pattern recognition.
After retiring, Dr. Davis founded a non-profit foundation, Cancer Antibodies Inc, dedicated to Cancer Research that focuses on a novel method (patent pending) that he created for identifying unique sites on cancer cells.
